My Andy-man was born 8 years ago today!

As a little boy he was curious, loving, smiley, smart, and always always wanted to play!

He made us so happy!

8 years later not much has changed,

my blue-eyed baby boy is growing tall but is still the sweetest, kindest, loving

kid a mom could ask for.

So proud to be your mommy! We love you Andy!

Papa Cohen was gone this year for Christmas

and without the official Holiday Cook,

we ended up having Christmas Eve dinner at our house.

It's a tradition at the Cohen's.

We get all dressed up and enjoy a Christmas feast.

My dear Papa Roy Cohen died on December 5, 2011 at the age of 79.

I have so many memories with my Papa Roy. He was always so upbeat and happy. He was a jokester, alwasy looking to get a reaction out of people. He took care of himself and had a champions mentality running 10+ miles a day till about a year before he passed away.

He was a fighter, a visionary- foreseeing things that would take place in the future. highly educated and very inteligent. He studied with the best of them- graduating from Princeton University, where he served as President of the LatinAmerican Club, Chairman of the United World Federalists, he was a great leader. He was an excellent business man and created a fortune- thinking BIG was his game plan.

He raised an amazing man- my father and for that, for teaching him values and to fear God I will always be grateful. so many stories, so many memories, so many things I still wish I could talk to you about...
It's hard to put into words what this man represented for me and our family. We loved him so much! I guess in a totally unrealistic way he was invincible to me. He was a hero to me, someone I thought would always be around.

I'm grateful for my Jewish heritage, that (thanks to him) runs through my veins. I'm proud to say that my Grandpa died being a Christian, he recognized that Jesus Christ is Our Savior and Messiah. and now he is gone, he has passed the veil and is in the company of His Creator and so many other loving family members. That must have been a glorious reunion to be back with la Abuela Ruth and el Abuelo Alberto and his dear brother Clem Cohen.

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a yummy dinner at the Cohen's this year! The turkey tyurned out to be the best ever which is hard to say because my dad makes an incredible turkey. We had fun as a family and invited my good friend Tylee from Alabama and her 2 boys to have dinner with us. I tried sweet potato pie for the first time ever, Tylee's Grandma's southern style recipe and it was delish!

I guess the best thing about Thanksgiving was that I got to speak to my Papa Roy for the last time, didn't know then that it would be the last but I'm sure glad I spoke to him... it was great to hear his sweet voice, to hear him say he loved me and ask about his great-grand babies was so special.... he told me that he wanted nothing more than to be there with us and enjoy a turkey dinner with cranberry sauce, I would have loved that too!

Pumpkins 2011

This year we did our pumpkins a little earlier than usual... I was thinking of something to do with the kiddos during Conference, something entertaining, quiet, fun & that would get us in the mood for Halloween and the Fall Season ---- Pumpkins!
Since it was still a little early in the season we decided on stickers for faces, with the idea that as we got closer to Halloween we could carve some scary pumpkins out to put on our porch.

While daddy was in Priesthood, we snuck off and picked out 5 awesome pumpkins... Andy thought we should pick them out by size biggest to smallest.... so the biggest one went to daddy and the littlest one to Ally.

Ally loved doing the stickers, she is into doing things on her own so she didn't want any help, I helped she just doesn't knnow it ;-)

We started out with some gifts for the kiddos. We didn't tell them where we were going till 6 am Friday morning... the car was packed, and they were each given backpacks with gifts, treats and clues.... Once we broke the news all 3 kids started jumping up & down and yelling Disney, Mickey yay!!!!
The plan was to celebrate Ally & Sean's bdays, so we had gifts for all 3 kids- new clothes, toys, and $$$$.

Andy loved having some money to spend, here he is super excited to find some bills along with a love note from mom and dad!

Our last day in california was spent at Laguna Beach... waht a dream place. We found the most amazing private beach, so we did a little exploring, swimming, tanning, running and having a total blast.
We discovered some caves, saw some surfers in action, and enjoyed a beautiful warm day in one of Cali's most famous beaches.

It was Ally's 1st time ever at the beach- she loved the 'agua' and played with daddy telling the agua to go away! "Go away agua, go away!" when she saw the crashing waves.

I got this hanging butterfly mobile for Ally months ago at Pottery Barn Kids, she never seemed to care, till today when she realized she could grab them... all of a sudden it bacame the funnest most exciting thing to do. She giggled as they flew by her. I love the innocence of our little once and how they can find happiness and laughter in simple little pleasures... like watching butterflies dance by.

We seriously had the best time at Andy's B-day party!

Andy said it was the best party ever!

Andy and Sean are both so into Toy Story, that inevitably this was the theme,

I was so happy to be doing something other than Super Heroes.

We had 17 of Andy's friends

including little brother Sean and sister Allie and cousin Broderick.

Andy was thrilled to have so many friends share in his special day.

The kids had a blast bouncing and going down the slide, playing lazer tag, skating, shooting balls at eachother, and discovering the jungle gym.
We ate pizza, chips, candy, cookies, fruit, cake, and drank lots and lots of water,
Caprisuns, and lemonade to stay hydrated.

Classic Fun Center is little kid heaven! Take a look at the pics and you will see why.
Even the adults couldn't help but get in on the fun!

Valentine's of the past & Valentine's of the present

One Valentine's Day years ago... When I was 9 years old, I became a member of

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints".

I love that every Feb. 14th--- the day of love is linked to one of the happiest moments in my life. I'll never forget the feelings I felt that day, and the confirmation I received from the spirit that in fact this was His true church. This was years before my dad converted and we became an eternal family, in fact only my mom and I were members at the time and it was the beginning of many wonderful things to come.

Now, 19 years later..... I not only have been sealed for eternity to my parents and siblings, but have a beautiful family of my own!

I'm so grateful for those missionaries that taught me the gospel and prompted me to ask Heavenly Father if Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and if this was His true Church.... I knew it then and I still know now the answer given to me by the spirit... What a blessing this knowledge has been in my life and how this little act of courage has molded my character and changed the course of my life forever!

This year Valentine's Day was also special and this is why:

I got 12 beautiful red roses from my best friend along with a hand-written love letter.

Tommy has the hardest time holding secrets, so he couldn't wait till the 14th to give me my present, and on Sunday while we were having dinner at my mom's he surprised me with a brand new HP Desktop Computer.... I was in shock! Totally unexpected and maybe not the most romantic gift..., but it was the perfect addition to my new work area and I love it!

I made these Valentine's Day cards for Andy's friends at school.

Andy made us the sweetest Valentine's Day card.

It read:

"To Mom and Dad

My love for you is cooler than Iron Man hot toys, warmer than the sun.

Every time you smile it makes me feel like I am a star.

Love Andy"

Isn't that the cutest ever!

He also made these Cards for Sean, Ally, mom and dad.

We celebrated by going to the Olive Garden's and spending time as a family, telling each other how much we love one another and how happy we are to have a FAMILY that is forever!

We love our Andy!
It's been 7 years since he came down to join our family here on Earth.
I can't hardly believe it- wow time has flown by!
I can still remember the 1st time I laid eyes on my handsome little baby
with all that dark, long hair, cuddled in my arms.
I fell in love instantaneously!
We connected immediately, and I knew that my life would change forever!
and it has!

Andy was the best baby ever!

He never ever cried.

He was always so happy!

always smiling and curious about all of his surroundings,

ready to discover new things and make
everyone around him giggle....

I guess nothings changed much...

He's still a very happy, friendly, smiley, curious,

adventurous, smart, and sweet boy!

Who has the most tender spirit ever and blue eyes that just melt my heart!

He is the best brother Ally and Sean
could ever ask for and mommy's best helper!

I don't know what I'd do without my handy Andy.

He brings so much joy to our lives!

I love talking to him, he is so smart and creative and

always has a way to come up with the craziest stories.

He is so polite to everyone and
thinks of people's feelings.

He can come up with a solution to almost every problem
and is so good at making people feel good.

You get the hint,

I am one happy mommy today!

I can't wait to celebrate many many more years
with the boy who made me a mom for the 1st time.

It is an honor and a privilege
to hear this short little 3 letter word
comming from his mouth.

I still wish I could keep him little and all to myself !

A day of fun!

Grandma Savage was in town last week and we had a ton of fun-
swimming at the hotel, going out to dinner, & spending time together.

Our funnest day was last Tuesday when we took the kids to
Classic Fun Center for a day of fun!

Sean couldn't get enough of the Jungle Jungle playground, he & Ally were played like little monkeys.... climbing, hanging, swinging

she loved the balls.

I couldn't stay behind.... so I got in on the fun too.

It was super fun, although I must admit that my back was in pain from going through the little kid tunnels and slides.

Ally was so scared & careful at first... it wasn't long before she was all over the place smiling form ear to ear & giggling out loud!

Sean had a great time in the crocodile pit (ball area)... he was so excited to throw balls freely without having me tell him to stop, like at home- where ball throwing is totally off-limits.

We lost big brother Andy for a little while, but it wasn't long before he got
in the game with us!

The Jungle swing was Perfect--- for our monkey-kid Andy.

Ally was totally hesitant, but made it across the snake bridge slowly but surely.

One of the neatest things about this place is that they let the kids bring their own scooters, push-along toys, skates, etc. They had so much fun riding around the track.

The Bouncy area was a total blast. My kids kept going in and out for non-stop fun!

Andy's cheeks were so red from running and bouncing around.

It was quite the work-out!

Mom & Ally at the top of a slide... Ally was so scared- she kept saying-- no, no, no & go, go, go as she hung onto me & then screamed the whole way down. She is such a girl.

Sean climbing Everest... I was so impressed with his skills. He was not scared at all.

Ally did enjoy bouncing, it just took her a little while to feel safe.

My kids slept sooooo good that night. Sean fell asleep in the car, he was so exhausted. He slept right through dinner & didn't wake up till the next morning.

We are going to have Andy's 7th B-day here, can't wait!
It's going to be sooo much fun. Andy is counting down the days!

Our little Ally is not so little anymore. I can't believe she'll be in nursery in 2 months. It feels like just yesterday we brought her home form the hospital. Now she's a walkin', talkin', climbin', smilin', giggly, liitle girl
that has places to go and things to do.
She is still by far my sweetest, calmest baby
& we are all so in love with her!

She's still pretty thin at barely 20 lbs, but is growing tall.

She's 31 inches already.

the great thing is that we have a hill right by our house that is just perfect.

Sean got this Buzz Light-year shuttle for X-mas and we thought it would be great for sledding,

too bad it only lasted a few trips down the hill before it popped... :-(

She just wanted to sit and eat the snow! It was Ally's first experience sledding---
she was pretty scared going down, but loved playing in all the fluffy white stuff.

We visited Temple Square after Christmas this year. It was a pretty snowy, cold day but that didn't stop us from having a total blast!

Here's my favorite picture- our cute family!

Ally was all smiles at the Church History Museum and

pretty mischievous too.

Take a look at her in this pic. trying to be part of the exhibit, if she could sit still for a minute she might just fit in....

Seany loved going up the escalators, he felt like such a big boy going up all by himself, he was a little hesitant--- his expression says it all.

They loved climbing into the bunks and pretending they were traveling across the ocean to the Americas, like most of their ancestors did to North and South America decades agao....

Andy enjoyed learning about the prophet Joseph Smith and Jesus.

He wanted to show his daddy all the cool antique guns.

These boys truly love eachother.... makes me happy to know that they are such good buds!

Once we were done looking around we decided to take a stroll on Temple Square

Christmas is our favorite Holiday! I think Santa knows this too, because he always seems to go a little overboard with presents
and this year was no exception!

The boys new favorite movie is Toy Story 3.

Sean wanted Toy Story toys so, he got a Buzz Lightyear Rocket that he can sit in, a woody mega train, a Toy Story target game, (among others), but his favorite for sure is his pal Buzz. Andy and Sean have been taking turns playing with this toy for the last week, so it definitely is a big hit at our house.

All they need now is a real sized Woody....

so they each got crayons, colored pencils,

Ally got this cute Disney Princess Rocking Horse....

she absolutely loves it! It plays music, gallops,

and the best part is that she can ride on it's back.

She also got the baby Cinderella Doll and a PBK baby carrier.

and a Disney Princess Stroller so she can take Babies Cinderella & Rapunzel for a stroll.

and my favorite toy is this kid sized Dyson vacuum (from PBK)
to match mine....

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR...

I love, love, love, Christmas!--- who doesn't right?.... the decorations, the music, the yummy treats, seeing your kids eyes light up x-mas morning, the gifts, spending time with family & friends, everything! and especially--- the whole reason why we celebrate this joyous holiday, the birth of Our Savior Jesus Christ, his mission & life. I am especially grateful for this knowledge and have felt his spirit very strongly over the last month.

This month like most Decembers was very busy for the Savage clan (hence the lack of posts to our blog), we had numerous parties, activities, shopping, and cooking to do. I'll try to post just a little of what we've been up to over the last few weeks.

Andy's school X-mas program:

The first graders at ELA prepared a wonderful Christmas program last Friday.

It was so hard getting 4 little kids & 3 dogs to sit still for a couple pics, but boy was it worth it! These pictures (although few) turned out super cute! all I have to say is thank goodness for lollipops.

I couldn't get a good one of just my kids, so we did a retake at our house later that evening.

Ward Christmas Party:

This year our ward decided to do something a little different for our ward Christmas party.

Everyone came to the party dressed as Shepherds & the youth & primary kids acted out the Birth of Christ. It was the best & most spiritual ward Christmas party I've been to, instead of having a Santa the 3 wise men handed out bags of treats for all the little kids.

Ally was dressed up as a little angel, she looked so cute in her little white dress and wings.

Sean loves hot cocoa with "mashmellos"!

He was so happy that I even talked him into a few pictures and smiley ones!!! Smilling pictures of Sean are rare these days--- the kid is always happy and laughing, but to get him sitting still & seeing his pearly whites all at the same time is the trick. Take a look at my silly 3-year old.
